Sorbet Hello Me Skin Week

Sorbet hello me skin week

Sorbet Salon, a leading professional beauty brand, hosted its Skin Week event and we were lucky enough to attend the Sorbet Hello Me Skin Week. In partnership with top skincare brands like Dermalogica, DMK, Exuviance, and Environ, media influencers, bloggers, and celebrities received an exclusive skin care experience. If I could, I would of attended all the days, but I’m pretty chuffed that I attend the Environ one. It was an absolute treat!

We were treated to some healthy refreshments that included shots of Collagen from Mother Kind and Be Bright. Collagen that enhances the glow from within. Hand massages, mini manicures and a photobooth kept us busy while we waited for our Environ Facial treatment.

Skin Scan

The skin treatments began with a 20-minute skin scan test to evaluate the skin from the deepest layers. We then got to sit back and relax with the Environ Facial. If I told you that the last time I had a facial was over 5 years ago, you would think I was kidding. But I’m not. It’s been a long time and that facial was exactly what my skin needed. It was an absolute treat! A skin masterclass was later conducted by skincare therapists, who had the us all fully immersed in a skin education session that had me wanting to buy all the Environ Products on the market.

We got treated to an Environ cool peel facial which is a safe non-invasive skin peeling system. This treatment helps refine, revive and brighten the skin. Discovering Wholeness…

Discovering Wholeness

Throughout the past 5 years or so, I’ve tried pretty much everything in the game to help my mind and body calm the heck down. Ever since becoming aware of my ability to clench my jaw until my teeth hurt, spend a good hour before bed running through my to-do list, and wondering if my heart palpitations was my PH acting up again — all signs that I had pretty serious anxiety.

Look, before Covid hit I was an emotional wreck, not having any control over my irrational fears and allowing them to completely take over my life. I turned to the good stuff. Antidepressant’s and anti-anxiety meds which worked beautifully because now I feel like a human again, but it’s getting to the point where I’m asking myself, “will I ever be able to cope without it?”

At first, I saw a very traditional therapist, who reassured me time and time again that my anxiety stemmed from my diagnoses. (Great, thanks!) I gave up caffeine, downloaded a meditation app, promised myself to hit up a yoga class at least twice a week, and all. Here I was, the picture of “doing everything right.”

Still, though, the teeth-clenching continued. Worry would leave me breathless, tight-chested, feeling unsafe in my own body.

Here I was, still far from calmed-the-heck-down.

Enter the Healing energy

I’ve always thought or myself as a “Hippie”, free spirited person. On rare occasions, I’ve been told that I have a calming energy whenever someone is in my presence. I have always been fascinated with spiritual healing and often find myself “feeling” things..

Almost like a sixth-sense… No- I don’t see dead people, but I’d like to think I can feel or sense them sometimes.

Anyway, my point is I’m pretty opened to spiritual healers, Reiki Masters, Hand- Hovering Healers, whoever they are. I’m game.

Funny enough, I was chatting to a family member about my woe’s and they mentioned seeing a spiritual healer. To my surprise one got sent to me.

The awakening

Enter the incredible Tanya- owner of Awakened Transcendence Healing . An Alternative Healer who believes in spiritual but practical holistic techniques and healing. Tanya is the loveliest person you will ever meet. Her beauty truly radiates from the inside out. Isn’t it weird that you can just tell when someone is just nice. Like someone that gives you good vibes… well that’s Tanya!

Tanya offered me a distance reading by giving me the opportunity to connect and really just get some clarity and direction. Because, to me, at the end of the day, isn’t that what it’s all about. To get clarity on a problem, or asking for guidance through a situation. It really all just boils down to that.

All I can say is WOW! She was spot on with so many things that I was dealing with that not a single soul knew about. It was the therapy session that I didn’t know I needed until I did it. The best part, it was all done at a distance. YES, distance healing is very possible and so convenient!

Obviously, readings are super personal so I won’t be sharing much about that, but one thing that I will share is that Tanya let me know that my Granny from my Dad’s side was always with me, watching over me. My Avo had passed away when my father was in his twenties, so I never got to meet her. But it is extremely special to know that our souls are connected.

This atonement process awakens the ability of the healer that has been lying dormant since birth.

Regression Therapy One-on-one sessions only.

Sometimes it is necessary to access an experience that you may not remember in order to release an issue. In a regression we access these experiences in order to identify the pattern from the past and heal it through understanding it in the present.

Space Clearing Distance sessions only.

A space clearing is normally recommended when you feel uncomfortable for an unexplained reason in your space, if things are breaking for unexplained reasons, or if you are moving in or out of a home. I do all my space clearings as distance clearings, allowing you the freedom to carry on with your day while I check in with your space. I then send you feedback on the clearing either by email or WhatsApp message so that you can go through it in your own time.

Interdimensional Healing Therapy Distance healing preferable.

An interdimensional healing includes healing in all the dimensions I am guided to work in. In general, I am guided to work in around three or four different dimensions in one healing. This healing is one of my absolute favourites because of the incredible insights that can be reached.

Litchi & Titch Review : Plant-Based Skincare

I can’t resist a body oil, and this one did not disappoint. Absolutely love the all-natural scent of coconut with a hint of Lime. I also like that it can double up as a bath oil. This is a real bliss-inducing oil that is a treat to use.

Face & Eye Oil is extremely hydrating with brightening properties. Using a good facial oil on acne-prone skin can be life-changing. The reason for this is.. a pimple is basically dead skin cells and oils (sebum) mixed together that clogs pores. I experienced absolutely no breakouts!

Our Review

If you are looking for an at-home spa-like skin treatment then Skinfrésh is it. Sensitive skin gals need not worry, as the products are super gentle on your skin with no irritation. I was excited to learn that all these products can be used in different ways. Like using your facial oil as a makeup remover. Or by mixing all the above products, you can create an intense hydrating mask. I think that’s what I like most about this brand. Products that are so versatile! It makes you feel like it’s worth every penny spent.

All in all, SUPER impressed by these products and can’t express enough of how spa-like quality the products hold. It’s simply beautiful. xx

Our need to find refuge has translated into creating more spaces to recharge. The rise of the DIY industry when looking at home improvement also speaks to our need to be mindful.

Aspects like designing spaces for privacy and using touchless technology will dominate 2022. Creating zones in our home spaces, workspaces and public spaces will become essential to living in line with our new consciousness surrounding our health.

The return of natural textures that help us self-soothe and connect will continue to rise in 2022. As with the emergence of the fourth wave, we continue to create new opportunities in our spaces that facilitate new ways of connection until a return to more social human connection can be made.

Nostalgia

Over 2021, this materialised as bringing in smaller elements of nostalgia such as items associated with happy holidays, personal history or icons of decades past that we shared a fondness for.

The return of colour and expression in our spaces over 2022 will likely continue to operate off of nostalgic inspiration. In furniture, for example, we expect to see more rounded objects and repurposing of pieces from the ’70s and ’80s. An element many of us find comfort in the midst of so much uncertainty.

Connection to Nature

Over 2022 we will bring nature into nearly every element of our homes in new intentional ways. In our furniture we will have greater mindfulness of the sustainability with which it is made and our need to tread lightly on the planet will eventually assimilate into the core ideals of South African design as it has begun to do in Europe.

The return of the local product to our spaces in fabrics and items. Partially influenced by the transport issues due to Covid, and partially our wanting to create more meaning in our spaces – and create community and social economy to keep small businesses going.

Meaningful Living

Mindful living is about real healing, feeding our souls. Layering of emotion into our spaces to create spaces to rejuvenate and be more spiritual. Becoming much more focused on our spirituality and try to find meaning in our surroundings by deepening our spaces.

The purpose of refreshing our space is to feed our energy. Designing spaces intentionally helps us preserve our energy and create richer spaces in which to thrive.
